  • Bedrooms are cleaned once a week. Bed linen and towels are changed every Sunday. It is the student’s responsibility to make the bed and to keep the room tidy. If a room is not tidy and things are left on the floor, the cleaners will not clean the room. Communal areas are cleaned every day. Students do not need to buy any cleaning materials
  • There are no Laundry facilities in this residence however there are 2 laundrettes in close proximity to the residence
  • Luggage drop-off is not available. Students can leave the luggage in their bedrooms
  • Utility bills are included
  • Kitchen utensils are provided
  • During the winter months, the heating is on from 06.00 until 23.00. The heating is not on overnight. Spare blankets are available if required. If you need anything extra, please ask the supervisor at the Residence

Description of Local Area

Only 5 minutes walk to the school, the Kemptown area is incredibly lively, full of great restaurants, pubs and local cafes.

Description of Accommodation

This residence is in a fantastic location and all the rooms are ensuite. There are 3 floors with a kitchen on each where students can prepare their own meals using the utensils provided by the residence.

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing 14 days or less prior to their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee.

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing 4 weeks prior to termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of the accommodation cost will apply. After deducting the price of accommodation used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.

Airport Pickup

If you have booked accommodation with EC you must arrive at the airport between 08:00 and 20:00. Late/early arrivals may be asked to book alternative accommodation.You will meet an EC transportation representative holding an EC Brighton sign in the arrivals hall.
If after 10 minutes you cannot see the EC representative, just call +44 (0)7714 459205 (from the information desk or a mobile phone).
If your flight is missed, delayed, or cancelled, or if there is any other problem, you  should notify EC by calling +44 (0)7714 459205 (from the information desk or a mobile phone) to rearrange your transfer time and avoid additional cost.

Other ways to get to your residence

There are direct trains from Gatwick Airport to Brighton Station. The residence is up to a 15-minute walk from Brighton Station. If travelling from Heathrow airport – Take the London Underground service to London Victoria train station. There are direct trains from London Victoria to Brighton Station. The residence is up to a 15-minute walk from Brighton Station.

Arrival Procedures

Students must inform the school of their arrival details prior to their arrival. This is to ensure the supervisor is present to check in the student. The student will need to show some form of identification, such as their passport, to the supervisor at the residence. On arrival the student must ring the doorbell at the entrance and the supervisor will be there to help.

House Rules

  • Students must be 18+ to choose this residence
  • Mixed Gender. Male and female students share common areas and facilities, but bedrooms are single gender
  • Students need to sign a Tenancy Agreement
  • Damage deposit £100 paid in cash
  • Guests are not allowed
  • Smoking is not permitted
  • While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate, be respectful and inclusive of others
  • EC provides a clean living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag
