The best part about learning English here at EC San Diego was the friends I made and the fact that you can improve your English skills and have fun at the same time.

I really enjoyed my time in San Diego and at EC San Diego mainly because of the nice people, nice weather and great teachers. I will miss everyone.

Even though I was here for less than one month, I have learnt and done a lot. My level of English is now upper intermediate. I definitely feel like my speaking skills have improved and I know this will help me when I go back home to my job.

I chose EC San Diego because I was a student at another school and not very happy. I looked online for really good ESL schools in San Diego and EC San Diego was highly rated. I will have attended ECSD for about 6 months before I transfer to Santa Monica College. SMC was suggested by EC’s Academic Director soon after my arrival as one of EC’s partner schools. Because I was an EC San Diego student that reached the Pre-Advanced level, I had my TEOFL waived; however, I also took the Duolingo exam which I passed. I decided to attend the Cambridge Exam classes which include Academic Skills Special Focus classes. These classes have really assisted me with my reading comprehension skills which are needed for attending a college. I am interested in attending UCLA for an undergraduate degree and read that Santa Monica College has a high success rate of transfers to UCLA. The application process to the college was fairly simple because the EC staff and my travel agent assisted me throughout the process. In addition, SMC has a really good online orientation and on-campus counseling services which I took advantage of doing as part of my transfer process. The campus itself is quite large and has many of the same amenities as a large university. I’m so excited to transfer there!

For my whole life in Brazil, I always studied English, but in San Diego I could practice 24 hours a day, so I improved a lot. When I arrived at EC San Diego, I was very excited and very happy to be here every day because of how the things work. It is so much better than my English experience in Brazil. I did not want to skip any classes because I learned so much. It is more than English lessons. Everything you do at EC SD is very good. The teachers and staff are very helpful, smiling and happy. When I first arrived, I was Upper Intermediate level. Now I am at the Proficiency level. My advise is that it is important to be focused and open - minded because you can learn from other cultures, which is such a special opportunity. This school is amazing, so do everything you can while you studying her. Do not waste your time!
