The Bella Vista Hotel is located in St. Paul’s Bay on the outskirts of Qawra and Bugibba which are Malta’s largest seaside resort towns. The hotel is 17 km from the airport and only 15 km from Malta’s capital city, Valletta. The coastline promenade is within walking distance from the hotel and boasts some of the Islands’ best open sea views. There are also views of some of the greenest valleys and country fields in this part of Malta, with Qawra Bay on one side and Wardija Hill on the other.

The Qawra Palace Hotel has a seafront location with views of Salina Bay and the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. Qawra is in the North of the Island, only 10 minutes away on foot from Bugibba and St. Paul’s Bay, where one can find grocery shops, pharmacies, souvenir shops, and restaurants.

The sandy beaches of Malta’s North coast are only a few minutes drive away.

Living

Breakfast

Continental breakfast available including juice, tea, coffee, toast, jams, cereal, pastries and fruit or similar.

Served at school or on activity, lunch consists of one hot or cold dish.

Packed lunches are provided at weekends that will consist of a sandwich, water and fruit.

Learning

Programme

Arrival

Students will be welcomed upon arrival to the residence where they will register and get their room keys so that they can check in to their rooms.

Welcome

On the first evening there will be a welcome activity which is designed to ensure students have the opportunity to meet staff and other students and get to know more about the centre, its facilities and useful information which will help them during their stay.

First day

Once at school, students will attend an induction session delivered by an Embassy Summer staff member, which lasts approximately 30 minutes. They will then take a one-hour placement test that assesses their grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and speaking

Students are tested so they can be placed in the best class for their English level. Students will receive their Welcome Pack on the first day of school.

Activities

Activities are organised on days when there are no trips and during the evenings, these activities take place either on-site or near the centre. These may include:

  • Sports such as football, mini Olympics, rounders, table tennis, volleyball and basketball
  • Daytime activities such as scavenger hunts and drama workshops
  • Evening activities such as karaoke, talent show and team games

  • Our students get to explore the most beautiful beaches around Malta.

 

Half – day Excursions

  • Our students get to explore exciting places around Malta such as Valletta, Mdina, Marsaxlokk and go on a harbour cruise.

  • Gozo: Full-day excursions to Malta’s smaller sister island, full of centuries of history and lots to explore.
  • Sicily: Full-day excursion to the beautiful Italian island of Sicily, filled with gorgeous landscapes and a mix of cultures.

The programme starts on a Sunday and it includes the full 7 days of the week.

Students will take part of lessons, have lunch at the centre and go on activities and excursions with the rest of the students. Below is a sample of the full summer programme.

Student Welfare

We place the highest priority on care and supervision at all of our Embassy Summer centres, so you can rest assured that students are well looked after. Members of staff are available 24 hours a day.

Medical information

If a student needs medical attention, an Embassy Summer staff member will help them to make an appointment. Group leaders must accompany the student to an appointment. An Embassy Summer staff member will accompany any student that is not part of a group. Students must bring their European Health Insurance Card to be seen at local hospitals and clinics.
