The Midtown Residences are used exclusively by students from the USA and around the world. Conveniently located near Grand Central Station and the iconic Chrysler Building, Students can also enjoy the many shops, restaurants, café’s and bars on 3rd and 2nd Avenues, a 5 to 10-minute walk away.
Description of Accommodation
A student residence with tons of amenity spaces, including study areas, classrooms, gym, laundry, and more!
Each student is given 1 blanket, 1 top sheet, 1 fitted sheet, 1 pillow/pillowcase, 1 basic towel (20″ x 35″) plate, 1 cup, 1 bowl, and 1 set of cutlery. Each room is also supplied with 1 roll of toilet paper.
There are two types of rooms
Standard: A single room furnished with two twin-size beds, closet, desk, and chair. The room includes a refrigerator, microwave and an ensuite bathroom.
Twin: A double (two-person) shared room. The room is furnished with two twin-size beds, a closet, and two desks and chairs. The room includes a refrigerator, microwave and an ensuite bathroom.
Miscellaneous
- Cleaning is provided in between checkouts. Additional room cleaning and linen cleaning can be provided at $75/clean.
- App operated laundry room 2.50/wash & 2.50/dry
- 24-Hour Security on-site.
- Utility bills included.
- Self-vending kiosks in common areas and community kitchen (using the app “Tulu”) for students to rent items for service (cleaning supplies). For cooking items, students may rent these at the school.
- If a student is changing rooms during their stay, they must check out and re-check in after 4PM. During this time, the building will not store the students’ luggage or belongings. The student can use one of the following apps for luggage storage (www.usebounce.com

Journey to school
MTA – 9 min down the 6 train from 51st to 42nd, and walk. Or 20 min walk from building.
Arrival and departure
Arrival Day: Saturday (Sunday arrival possible)
Check-in time: 4pm
Early check-in is not allowed.
Arrival Procedures
Check in at front desk for building access and Residence ID Card. To check in you will need your photo id and a copy of your EC English booking confirmation.
Departure Day: Saturday
Check-out time: 10am (no late checkout). Students must return their Residence ID Card. Students can give the card directly to the RA at the front desk. If the RA is busy, the student can put this Residence ID Card in the box located on the front desk.
Cancellations
Cancellation prior to arrival
Students cancelling or postponing 14 days or less prior to their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee.
Cancellation after arrival
Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing 4 weeks prior to termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of the accommodation cost will apply. After deducting the price of accommodation used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.
Airport Pickup
If you booked an airport transfer, after you collect your luggage and exit into the Arrivals Area, find the Welcome Center and look for your driver. Your driver will be waiting there with a sign that has your name on it.
NOTE: International transfers will arrive 90 minutes after the flight lands and domestic arrivals will arrive 30 minutes after the flight lands to allow the students to retrieve their luggage. If you do not see a driver with a sign with your name on it, please call the EC New York Emergency phone line at +1-631-612-4494.
House Rules
- Students need to be 18 years old to use this accommodation
- The building is mixed gender.
- Smoking is not permitted in any part of the apartment.
- No pets or partying.
- Yes – pre registered guests with 24 hours notice must be given to EC Staff. No walk in guests. Guests will not be provided linen package. Guests are permitted 3 over night stays per week. Guests need to provide first name, last name, email, phone number and copy of photo ID.
- Students arriving in EC accommodation between 22.00 – 08.00 may be asked to book alternative accommodation for their first night. This is to ensure student’s safety on arrival.
- While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate, be respectful and inclusive of others.
- EC provides a clean living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag.
Students are required to follow EC Student Code of Conduct, failure to do so can result in termination of the accommodation.
