Description of Accommodation
La Marq au 515 is a beautiful residence with many modern features. Each apartment is spacious and well-designed with 3 or 5 single bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen & lounge and Wi-Fi. The unit has shared bathrooms (1 bathroom in 3-bedroom unit; 2 bathrooms in 5-bedroom unit), and each floor of apartments has a washing machine and dryer:

Miscellaneous
- Common areas are cleaned weekly. Students are expected to clean their bedroom, take out garbage and recycle
- Laundry room is on every floor. There is 4 washer/dryer combos must purchase pre-paid cards. The price for the washer is $2.50 and for the dryer $2.25.
- Luggage drop-off is not allowed. There is a storage closet in the apartment that students ask their friends / roommates to store for them while they wait for their departure. They must vacate the room before 11 a.m. and only stay in the common areas before their departure

Arrival and departure
Arrival day: Saturday ( Sunday arrival is possible)
Check-in: Guests can check in at 1pm, but if the room is ready early the guests will be allowed to check in earlier.
If the room isn’t ready and the guests come before 1pm, the guests can wait in the lounge room.

Journey to school
Approx. 15 minutes on foot or 14 minutes by public transport.
Walking directions to EC Montreal:
- When exiting La Marq au 515 Residence, turn right to St. Catherine Street.
- Cross St. Catherine Street and turn right.
- Walk 14 blocks to EC (15 to 20 minute walk).
- Enter the 1610 entrance on St. Catherine Street and take the elevator to the 4th floor.
Metro Directions to EC Montreal:
- Get on at the McGill metro station and take the Green metro line to Guy-Concordia metro station
- Exit the Guy-Concordia metro station on Guy Street
- When you exit the metro station, turn left and walk towards Ste-Catherine Street West
- Turn right, on Ste-Catherine Street West, crossing Guy Street
- Enter the 1610 entrance on St. Catherine Street and take the elevator to the 4th floor.
Cancellations
Cancellation prior to arrival
Students cancelling or postponing within 14 days of arrival date, for reasons other than visa denial, will be charged a one-week accommodation fee at the standard accommodation rate and the accommodation placement fee.
Cancellation after arrival
Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing 4 weeks prior to termination. After deducting the price of accommodation used, including the required notice period, charged at standard accommodation rates, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs. If the 4-week notice period is not provided, a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of the accommodation cost will apply.
Airport Pickup
If you have booked accommodation with EC you must arrive at the airport between 08:00 and 20:00. Late/early arrivals may be asked to book alternative accommodation.
You will meet an EC transportation representative holding an EC Montreal welcome sign after you exit through the glass doors after customs/ immigration.
If after 10 minutes you cannot see the EC representative, just call +1 514 947 1030 (from the information desk or a mobile phone).
If your flight is missed, delayed, or cancelled, or if there is any other problem, you should notify EC by calling +1 514 947 1030 (from the information desk or a mobile phone) to rearrange your transfer time and avoid additional cost.
Other ways to get to your residence
Taxi or an Uber.
There is also a regular bus ( #747) that stops at metro station Lionel Groulx and from there the student can purchase a metro pass to go McGill station and walk to La Marq.
It is reccomended not to take the bus from the airport because it could be complicated to carry all the luggage as there are no elevators in most metro stations.
House Rules
- Students must be 18 + to choose this accommodation
- Mixed gender
- Damage Deposit: $250 (credit card authorisation form can be completed on the first day of school; refunded after departure if no damage has occurred). Credit card is required.
- Guest are not allowed
- Smoking is not permitted
- Students arriving at La Marq outside of the Office hours or the Security hours may be asked to book alternative accommodation for their first night. This is to ensure student’s safety on arrival.
- While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate, be respectful and inclusive of others
- EC provides a clean living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag
Students are required to follow EC Student Code of Conduct, failure to do so can result in termination of the accommodation.
