Avon Point is the perfect place for students in Bristol. It’s a short walk from Temple Meads station, which has quick transport links across the city and beyond. The area is full of shops, cafés, and places to eat, and you can reach the city centre and universities easily by bus, bike, or on foot. With modern student facilities and a lively, central location, it’s a great base to enjoy everything Bristol has to offer.

Description of Accommodation 

Avon Point offers all the features you’d expect from modern student living. It boasts study spaces for private or group work and plenty of communal areas to socialize. Enjoy the karaoke room, pool table, games room with consoles, and café area to relax in. This residence is centrally located right next to Temple Meads railway station and only a 20-minute walk from the school.

Cancellations

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing 14 days or less prior to their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee.

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing 4 weeks prior to termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of the accommodation cost will apply.  After deducting the price of accommodation used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.

Airport Pickup

If you have booked accommodation with EC you must arrive at the airport between 08:00 and 20:00. Late/early arrivals may be asked to book alternative accommodation. Please provide your flight number, arrival time, terminal and airport of origin – minimum 2 weeks in advance. You will meet an EC transportation representative holding an EC Bristol sign at the arrivals. If after 10 minutes you cannot see the EC representative, just call the EC emergency phone +44 77 1356 1436. If you missed your flight or your flight is delayed you should notify EC by calling the emergency phone if out of office hours +44 77 1356 1436 (from the information desk or a mobile phone) to rearrange your transfer time and avoid additional cost.

House Rules

  • Students must be 18 + to choose this accommodation
  • Mixed Gender: Male and female students share common areas and facilities, but bedrooms are single gender
  • Guests are allowed, but can not stay overnight
  • Deposit is not requested
  • Smoking is not permitted
  • While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate, be respectful and inclusive of others
  • EC provides a clean living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag

If Airport Pick-up is not requested you can get the residence by bus, train or taxi.

From Bristol Airport: Bus A1 (Airport Flyer) to Bristol Temple Meads, then 5 minute walk OR taxi from the airport

From Heathrow Airport: Coach (National Express) to Bristol Bus Station, then Uber/taxi or bus to residence

Arrival Procedures

Students arrive at reception and the security guard on side will give them their key and show them to their room.
