Why Fairleigh Dickinson University?
Fairleigh Dickinson University was founded in 1942. Fairleigh Dickinson University is the first American university to own and operate an international campus and currently offers more than 100 individual degree programs to its students. The school has four campuses, two in New Jersey (United States), and one each in Canada and in the United Kingdom. FDU Vancouver offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to earn an American degree while studying in Canada. The university’s newest campus, it opened in 2007.
The modern, high-tech “city campus” is located in downtown Vancouver, one of the most scenic, cosmopolitan and multicultural cities in the world. The campus offers a trimester calendar that enables you to fast track your studies and earn your degree in less than three years, saving you time and money.

Application deadlines
Undergraduate: rolling admission (programs will remain open until they are filled).
Graduate:
Fall: April 1
Spring: September 1
Summer: January 1
Application Requirements
Undergraduate
An applicant must have graduated from an accredited or government recognized secondary school or have received his or her General Education Development (GED) certificate.
Graduate
1. Graduated from a 4 year, regionally accredited undergraduate program or equivalent.
2. Maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (B) in their undergraduate studies.
3. Two (2) letters of recommendation
4. Personal statement of purpose
5. Demonstrate efficiency in communication of the English Language (for international students whose first language is not English). This can be accomplished through one of the following:
◦a. Achieving a TOEFL iBT 79 or higher
◦b. Achieving an IELTS overall band score of 6.0 or higher
◦a. EC Pathway level completion
What happens next?
Estimated processing times:
Letter of Acceptance issued within 10 working days
for most programs
Once you receive your Letter of Acceptance:
1. Confirm your acceptance with the International Office as outlined in the Letter of Acceptance
2. Contact your local Canadian Immigration office and apply for your study permit
3. Include your letter of acceptance with your study permit application
What do I need to apply?
1. Completed application form with signature (you may apply online or download a PDF undergraduate application form - for Bachelor degree programs).
2. Pay $40 USD application fee online during the online application completion or by check, money order or wire transfer.
3. Attested or official transcripts, academic records, diplomas, national examination results, certificates or degrees received from all secondary, post-secondary, university and/or professional schools.
4. Two (2) recommendation letters.
5. TOEFL, IELTS, or Pearsons PTE-A results sent directly from the testing agency to Fairleigh Dickinson University except IELTS (copies accepted). Include a photocopy of the results (if available) with your application. Please review our policy on English proficiency.
6. Copy of information page in your valid passport.
