Wellington school 

A traditional British boarding school, set in wonderful surroundings, in the popular location of the South West of England. Founded in 1837, the school occupies a 35 acre site in the centre of the market town of Wellington. The school offer excellent facilities for students and it’s a short walk away from local high street and shops. Trains run to London from two nearby train stations. Bristol and Bath are also nearby as is the famous town of Glastonbury.

Food Options

Breakfast

Continental including juice, coffee, toast, cereal and fruit. Full English Breakfast provided on the weekends.

Lunch

2 courses, 3 options including a vegetarian and halal options, large array of salad bowl options and fresh fruit.

Evening Meal

2 courses. 3 options including vegetarian and halal.

Snacks

Small tuck shop is available for students to buy drinks and snacks.

 

 

Facilities

Wellington School Facilities

  • Each boarding house has comfortable common rooms with entertainment and games available.
  • There is also a large hall used for assemblies and sometimes for afternoon activities and evening entertainment.
  • On a specific day each week personal laundry will be collected and washed. Each student will be provided with a clear bag with a name tag.
  • There is a heated indoor swimming pool on site for use when a life guard is present at scheduled times.
  • Nearest shops are available in Wellingotn Town. Students will be supervised when going to the local shops and are only permitted at the discretion of the summer School Management.
  • All student pocket money and travel documents will be stored in our school safe on arrival. Access will be given at set times to pocket money and all deposits and withdrawals will be recorded.
  • The school has a bright and modern dining hall in the main campus. Students are expected to queue in an orderly manner for the meals.
  • All the classrooms are located in the main campus and building area of the school at Wellington School. Most classrooms have interactive whiteboards or Smartboards and projectors as well as WiFi access.
  • Other sport facilities: astro turf, tennis courts, state of the art sports hall, dance studio, playing fields for football, rugby and other field sports, an art studio, modern dining facilities and great study areas.

MEALS

Meals are provided in a large self-service dining hall.

Learning

  • Taught by friendly and professional English teachers
  • 20x45 minute lessons per week, morning or afternoon
  • Placement test on the first weekday following arrival to ensure students in appropriate level
  • Maximum 15 students per class
  • Students will be placed in an international class with students of different nationalities
  • Modern classrooms with interactive whiteboards
  • Classrooms are located throughout the campus
  • Curriculum with emphasis on communication skills
  • Materials included as well as an end of course report and certificate

Programme Information

Arrival

Student will be welcomed upon arrival at the Embassy Summer Office, where they will register and get their keys so that they can check-in to their rooms.

Welcome

On the first evening, there will be a welcome activity which is designed to ensure students have the opportunity to meet staff and other students and get to know more about the campus, its facilities and useful information which will help them during their stay.

 

 

 

 

Activities

Activities are organised in-between lessons and during evenings. These activities could be on-site or near to the centre. These may include:

  • Sports such as football, mini Olympics, rounders, table tennis, volleyball and basketball
  • Daytime activities such as scavenger hunts and drama workshops
  • Evening activities such as themed discos, talent shows and team games

Getting to and From School Activities

Our students travel by coach for all activities and excursions outside the centre.

  • BRISTOL: Bansky walking tour and M-shed,

3 WEEK SAMPLE PROGRAMMES

Extra

Each 14 night stay will include 2 half-day trips to nearby towns and attractions and 4 full-day excursions to other exciting towns such as London, Oxford, Brighton and Windsor. Transport for trips may be by private coach or public transport.This programme is for illustrative purposes and activities and trips shown may change.
