Embassy Summer Tavistock

 

Set in the beautiful county of Devon in the South West of England, Tavistock is the only town in Devon to hold World Heritage status. Our centre is located on the wonderful campus of Mount Kelly, a traditional ‘Harry Potter’ style British boarding school. Students have access to excellent facilities such as a large sports hall, extensive playing fields, two indoor swimming pools and a heated outdoor pool, all located on a safe and secure site, perfect for a great summer experience.

Living

  • Majority twin rooms with some triples and larger multi-bedded rooms for younger students
  • Separate boarding houses with a variety of room layouts throughout and bathrooms along the corridors for easy access
  • Room furniture includes Single bed, wardrobe, desk, chair
  • All boarding houses have large, common rooms with social space, TV etc
  • Full clean three times per week, bins emptied and bathrooms cleaned twice per week
  • Linen changed weekly
  • Students should bring their own towels for showering and swimming
  • Laundry facilities available on site, free of charge
  • Meals are served in the school’s traditional style dining room on campus, packed lunch on full day trips
  • Wi-fi

Learning

  • Placement test on day 1 to ensure students are in a class of the appropriate level

Programme Information

Arrival

Student will be welcomed upon arrival at the Embassy Summer Office where they will register and get their keys so that they can check-in to their rooms.

Welcome

On the first evening, there will be a welcome activity which is designed to ensure students have the opportunity to meet staff and other students and get to know more about the campus, its facilities and useful information which will help them during their stay.

Activities

Activities are organised in-between lessons and during evenings.
 
These activities could be on-site or near to the centre.  These may include:
  • Sports such as football, mini Olympics, rounders, table tennis, volleyball and basketball
  • Daytime activities such as scavenger hunts and drama workshops
  • Evening activities such as themed discos, talent shows and team games
