Student Testimonial

All of the teachers at EC are friendly, kind and generous. I really like the way they teach. It is not just technical but they also help students by learning from their culture and make me feel at home in the classroom.

During my time at EC I've had a lot of unforgettable memories and will not forget any of them. My homestay was amazing, the family was wonderful and I especially loved Phebe's cooking. I am going to miss them all.

I really would like to recommend EC for anyone who is after an unforgettable study aborad experience.

Teacher Testimonial

I was born in Mexico City so Spanish is my first, first language. My parents moved to Los Angeles when I was 8 at which point English became my second, first language. I studied Global Studies, Sociology and Art History at the gorgeous University of California, Santa Barbara. I’ve always had a fascination for cultural customs, languages and food. I studied French, Italian and Catalan while at UCSB, none of which I am fluent in unfortunately. My international travel is limited as I have only been between Mexico and the United States. I have been lucky enough to have seen a good portion of the United States, although some of my students have seen more of the U.S. which is a little embarrassing to be honest. My goal is to see the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Zion Park by the end of 2014!

Living in Los Angeles allows you to nurture your love for adventure so it the perfect place for me. There is always something to do, sometimes too much. My all-time favorite thing to do on weekends is playing volleyball in Venice Beach. I love the challenge, the sand, and the opportunity to meet new people. The remainder of my time is spent discovering new places to eat or see with friends, something I will never grow tired of.

My recommendation for future ECLA students is to come prepared to be challenged and an adventurous spirit to make the best of your experience here in Los Angeles.
