Description of local area

Scape Bloomsbury is a brand new, purpose-built student residence opening in September 2018, meaning EC’s students will be the first people to live here!

Bloomsbury is the perfect location in London for students: you are in the heart of the academic district and less than 10 minutes’ walk from the British Library, the British Museum, and many of London’s universities: UCL, SOAS and Birkbeck  are just around the corner. You are also only 20 minutes’ walk from the West End, 10 minutes walk from Kings’ Cross, St Pancras and Euston train and tube stations.

And while Bloomsbury is bang in the centre of London, it is still well-known as a relatively quiet, calm retreat from the hustle and bustle of the West End and the lively areas of Camden, Islington and Holborn. Beautiful old town houses look down upon secluded gardens and squares, some of London’s best-known museums and galleries are located here, and it is still famous among artists for being the home of the Bloomsbury Group.

Otherwise, Bloomsbury has everything else that London can offer: pubs, cafes, restaurants, music venues, cinemas, shopping centres, local markets, and some of the best bookshops in the world!
