Miscellaneous

  • Rooms are cleaned weekly and bed linen and towels are cleaned weekly too. Kitchens and communal areas are cleaned five times a week. Students are expected to do their own washing up and tidy the kitchen following use
  • There are washing machines and dryers. The laundry is open 24 hours a day. Washing machines cost £2.60 per wash and dryers cost £2.00 per cycle. Washing detergent and fabric softener are not provided

Description of Local Area

Tripos Court is a modern complex of eight purpose-built student residences in a newly developed area of Cambridge. It is set opposite a large leisure park which includes restaurants, bars, supermarket, music/theatre venue, leisure facilities, amenities and transport links all in close proximity.
This campus-style accommodation is a secure gated site with an upbeat international atmosphere making it ideally suited for students.

Description of Accommodation

The light and airy residence has been recently refurbished and consists of 300 en-suite bedrooms, with 6 residents sharing a contemporary fully equipped communal kitchen.
Bedrooms are all single ensuite and include plenty of storage options, including under bed storage, wardrobe, bookcase, bedside cabinet and shelving. There is a designated space for studying with a desk and chair. Bedding, linen, towels, toilet rolls and coat hangers are all included in the room. Residents are able to control the heating and temperature within their own room too.
Tripos Court is arranged in clusters, with 6 en-suite bedrooms sharing a large fully equipped communal kitchen. A key benefit of this layout is the opportunity to cook, eat and socialize with other residents in this multi-functional space. Kitchens are fully equipped with breakfast bar stools, sofa and beanbags, and everything you need to prepare your meals. All cooking utensils are provided, including all crockery, cleaning materials as well as ironing board and iron.

Arrival and departure

  • Arrival day: Saturday (Sunday arrival is allowed).
    Check in: after 12:00 pm
    Early Check-in is allowed on request
    Late check in is allowed. After 9.30pm, residents will be met by the security guard on duty.

  • Departure day: Saturday 
    Check out: Saturday 10:00
    Late check out is not allowed. 

Journey to school

EC is located about 20 minutes from Tripos Court by bus.


Cancellations

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing 14 days or less prior to their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee.

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing 4 weeks prior to termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of the accommodation cost will apply.  After deducting the price of accommodation used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.  

Airport Pickup

If you have booked accommodation with EC you must arrive at the airport between 08:00 and 20:00. Late/early arrivals may be asked to book alternative accommodation. You will meet an EC transportation representative holding sign with the EC logo and your name. They will be waiting for you at Arrivals. If after 10 minutes you cannot see the EC representative, just call +44 (0)7966976513 (from the information desk or a mobile phone). If your flight is missed, delayed, or cancelled, or if there is any other problem, you should notify EC by calling +44 (0)7966976513 (from the information desk or a mobile phone) to rearrange your transfer time and avoid additional cost.

Other ways to get to your residence

10 minute taxi or bus ride from the train station or bus station.

Arrival Procedures

There is a reception area that is open 24/7 and where someone will be available to show the student to their room. If you are unable to check into your residence on the pre- booked day of arrival, please call the emergency number and advise our staff of your intended check in date and estimated time of arrival.

House Rules

  • Students must be 18+ to book this accommodation
  • Mixed Gender: Male and female students share common areas and facilities, but bedrooms are single gender
  • Students will be asked for credit card details but will not charge unless rooms are left majorly damaged
  • Students will be asked to sign a Tenancy Agreement
  • The guests are allowed to stay until 10pm. If they want to stay overnight they need to book a separate room, if available, at normal rate
  • Smoking is not allowed inside the accommodation, but there are designated smoking areas on site
  • While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate, be respectful and inclusive of others
  • EC provides a clean living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag
