Description of accommodation

25 Portland Place is a mixed gender residence which is located in a beautiful four storey, spacious Georgian building. There are 5 modern bathrooms with showering facilities, a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and a microwave as well as a dining area. The spacious living room has sea views and comfortable seating as well as a television and separate utility area where there are two machines for the use of the students.

25 Portland Place is a 20 minute walk from the city centre or a 17 minute journey using public transport.

Within 5 minutes’ walk from the residence one can find a shopping area with a supermarket, butcher shop, cheese shop, delicatessen, chemist, newsagent, cafés, bars and restaurants.

25 Portland Place is 15 minute walk from EC Brighton school or a 8 minute journey using public transport.

Arrival Procedures

Upon arrival please call the EC Brighton emergency number +44 (0) 7714 459205 when you are approximately 30 minutes away from Brighton and a member of staff will meet you at the residence, show you to your room and provide you with your residence keys.


  • Mixed Gender: Male and female students share common areas and facilities, but bedrooms are single gender.
  • Students should bring their own beach towels.
  • Residences are suitable for students aged 18 - 28 years.
  • The residence accommodates both male and female students.
  • All bedrooms have locks on them
  • A damage deposit form must be completed on the first day of school. It is important that you bring details of a friend’s or relative’s credit/debit card with you if you do not have one yourself with a letter of authority to use this card. Payment for damages must be effected immediately.
  • If you are unable to check into your residence on the pre- booked day of arrival, please call the emergency number and advise our staff of your intended check in date and estimated time of arrival.
