Description of accommodation

Brighton is a thriving seaside town, often described as 'London by-the-sea', with a great mixture of culture and people. The Brighton Lanes are a series of cobbled streets and old fisherman's cottages that have been adapted into shops and restaurants. The Lanes are also home to many antique shops, boutiques, bars, pubs and continental cafes. Brighton has a variety of nightlife entertainment for all nationalities and age groups. The Palace Pier is 100-years-old and offers a host of amusements, including a museum of slot machines, extensive fun rides, restaurants and bars. The Sea Life Centre hosts Britain's largest aquarium, offering dramatic displays, close-up views and opportunities of literally 'walking under water' through the longest aquarium tunnel in Europe. Several theatres are also in Brighton, hosting classical music concerts, opera, plays and comedy.

Description of local area

Phoenix Halls of Residence are located on Southover Street, a 15-minute walk to the City Centre and to EC Brighton which is located at Dolphin House in Manchester Street.

The student accommodation comprises several flats, each containing six to eight single bedrooms. Each bedroom provides good storage space, as well as a desk for study, a shelf and drawer space. Bed linen and towels are provided and every guestroom has its own private bathroom facilities.

Each flat has a communal kitchen, which is shared with up to seven other students, and offers cooking facilities and all necessary kitchen utensils. There is also a communal TV room on site and a games area which allows students to socialise with other guests during the evenings. Phoenix offers students the independence and privacy of single room accommodation, but also provides a space to socialise in the in the communal areas.
