Description of Local Area

The residence is situated one block away from Davie Street, one of the most exciting neighbourhoods in Vancouver with fantastic nightlife, restaurants, cafes, and Sunset Beach just a short walk away. There are supermarkets and excellent transport links nearby. Robson Street, the city’s most popular shopping hotspot, is also just a few blocks from the residence.

Description of Accommodation

This is a well-organized residence with incredible views of downtown Vancouver. A number of apartments also offer partial views of the sea and the mountains. Each apartments consist of 2-5 bedrooms with single and shared options available (either a twin or bunk bed), 1 open-plan fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, fridge and freezer, microwave, oven and stove), 1 spacious living room, and 1 to 3 bathrooms, depending on the size of the apartment. Each bedroom is equipped with a bed, desk, chair, and allocated closet space or wardrobe per student.

Arrival and departure

  • Arrival Day: Saturday (Sunday arrival is possible). 

    Check in: 16:00
    Early Check in is not allowed but student is permitted to stay in the common areas until their room is ready.
    Late check in is allowed

    Check out: 11:00
    Late check out is not allowed but students can wait in the common areas until they needs to leave to the airport.

Journey to school

Approx. 19 minutes on foot.
You can also use public transport. Walk to Granville Street where you can take buses 004 / 010 /014 / 050. Stop in Granville Street NS Dunsmuir. Cross the street and you will see the school. It will take you around 9 minutes to arrive.  


Cancellations

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing 14 days or less prior to their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee.

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing 4 weeks prior to termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of the accommodation cost will apply.  After deducting the price of accommodation used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.

Airport Pickup

If you booked an airport transfer, someone will meet you at the airport and bring you to your residence.
If you are at International arrivals, you will meet an EC Transfer Representative after you walk through 2 sets of automatic doors. They will be wearing a yellow t-shirt and holding a yellow sign with the EC logo on it and standing across from the wooden statues.
If you are at Domestic Arrivals, collect your bag from the baggage carousel and wait in that area. You will see an EC Transfer Representative wearing a yellow t-shirt and holding a yellow sign with the EC logo on it.
If after 10 minutes you cannot see the EC representative, just call +1 604.988.7639 or text/WhatsApp +1.778.773.5466 (from the public phone, information desk or a mobile phone).
If your flight is missed, delayed, or cancelled, or if there is any other problem, you should notify EC Transfer Representative by calling +1 604.988.7639 or text / WhatsApp +1.778.773.5466 (from the information desk or a mobile phone) to rearrange your transfer time and avoid additional cost.

Arrival Procedures

School needs to receive the flight detials and/or approx. arrival time to the residence. Security team will welcome the student in the lobby, if they are not there please wait a few min. 

House Rules

  • 18+ as adult students, no EC custodianship
  • Mix Gender (sharing rooms are single gender)
  • A deposit of $300 (credit card required) will be requested upon arrival. This sum will be refunded 5-15 business days after checkout
  • Guests are not allowed
  • Smoking is not allowed (not even on the balconies or through the windows)
  • While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate, be respectful and inclusive of others
  • EC provides a clean living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag
